Cincy Recital Venue

It’s Monday April 30, 2012 today and I am starting my last week of the year that consists of finals and juries. It was probably the busiest semester on record for me, I know how to get busy! Some highlights consisted of helping with the NABBA conference that was held this year in Cincinnati. I thought the whole process went over very well and I expect next year’s to be even better. It will again be hosted in Cincy on April 12-13, 2013. It was a busy week leading up to the event this year as I hosted the Fountain City Brass Band the evening before NABBA. It was a great honor to host this ensemble and I know the NKU Brass Students were all inspired. They will make a return next year to NKU (April 11th *tentative), you do not want to miss it, info coming in the Fall. I also participated in the Ohio ITG Meeting hosted at Miami University in Oxford, OH. The NKU Trumpet Ensemble performed and I had the opportunity to perform in a trumpet ensemble consisting of Ohio Trumpet Professors with guest artist, Stephen Burns. It was a great event and I am excited to announce that I will be hosting this event next year. Info coming this summer!

I had 2 recitals this Spring, one in Cincy and one in Luther College. I enjoyed working on the repertoire, I have YouTube videos of some of the pieces I performed. There were so many cool things that happened this semester that I don’t think I can list it all, I will instead insert some images. I think in the future I will update more, this is afterall a blog and I plan to write more. Until then I will give a quick account of this summer and my projects. I will present a cornet lecture recital at ITG this May, perform soprano cornet with the Athena Brass Band at IWBC and Gettysburg Festival, direct the band @ NKU Band Camp, play and solo with the Frank Simon Band, perform with Star United, practice for upcoming CD recordings and of course Rest and Relax for 2012-13!!!
